The Foundation of Burkina Faso added two more Viatorian priests to its
Newly ordained Fr. Kingsley Ogudo and Fr. Gabriel Ouedraogo
community. Fr. Kingsley Ogudo, CSV, and Fr. Gabriel Ouedraogo, CSV, were ordained July 6 in the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Lourdes in Ouagadougou.
In all, eight new priests were ordained.
They were among eight priests who were ordained that day by Cardinal Philippe Ouedraogo, Archbishop of the Diocese of Ouagadougou.
“Be men of communion,” Cardinal Ouedraogo told them. “Be credible signs of the presence of the Spirit, who infuses hearts with passion so that all may be one.”

On hand to celebrate with the new religious were Viatorians from Burkina Faso, Canada and the Ivory Coast. Together, they thought of the words of Pope Francis in his apostolic letter to religious in 2014: “Where there is consecrated life, there is joy.”
In the following weeks, the newly ordained priests celebrated Masses of thanksgiving at the parish of St. Albert le Grand de la Rotonde, the Chapel of St. Andrew in the English-speaking community and on July 21 at St. Viateur Parish in Banfora.

The Foundation of Burkina Faso was established 20 years ago by the Province of Canada. With these new priests, the Community has 30 religious, 28 of whom are Burkinabe, and four postulants.
