Br. Henri-Louis Bureau, CSV, holds a rare distinction in the international Viatorian Community. On Christmas Eve, he turned 100 years old.

Br. Bureau is a native of Québec. He joined the Viatorian Community in 1938. While Br. Bureau spent the first 30 years of his ministry as a professor in Canada, he broadened his experience beginning in 1970, when he began a teaching career in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

From 1985-1990, he taught English at St. Viator High School in Taïchung, Taïwan, where he is remembered fondly by his former students. He spent the remainder of his teaching career going between Canada and Haiti, and retired in 2005, at the age of 87.

Br. Bureau now lives with his retired confreres at the Saint Viator Community residence in Joliette, located in the southwest section of Quebec.

For his birthday celebration, Br. Bureau celebrated at Mass, looking remarkably young and sporting a boutonniere on his suit, acknowledging his special day.

Happy birthday, Br. Bureau!
